Stages

Similar to how Ethereum rollups are classified in stages, we also categorize the Dragobits game into stages. In traditional game development, stages could be compared to major new releases. In the case of Dragobits, stages represent the gameโ€™s decentralization and longevity. The lower the stage, the less decentralized and enduring it is.

1

Stage Alpha (current)

Stage Alpha is a testing phase in which the game is deployed on real networks, and some early adopters receive gas tokens for testing. Additionally, all configuration variables are adjusted to make the game affordable to play.

2

Stage 0 (next)

In Stage 0, randomness depends on an honest transaction sequencer, meaning the reliability of the gameโ€™s random events is tied to the trustworthiness of a central entity. The game can be modified, but customization is difficult and requires significant effort. Additionally, the deployer has the ability to update the artwork, which includes non-game-relevant metadata but does not affect gameplay.

3

Stage 1 (soon)

In Stage 1, the game moves toward a more decentralized setup, as randomness no longer depends on a single third party. Basic hooks are introduced, enabling the community to build and apply modifications to the game.

4

Stage 2

Stage 2 represents a fully decentralized Dragobits experience, where randomness relies solely on user interactions and Ethereumโ€™s infrastructure. This stage introduces enhanced and flexible hooks, making it possible to create custom versions of the game based on existing contracts.
